A Brief History

Around 90 years from today and located on the out skirts of the city of Ahmedabad in Vatwa area is this huge and magnificent Jain Pilgrimage popularly known as Shree Shantidham Jain Tirth which also has a Shelter Home for the weak and homeless, socially and physically weak elders. The Institute popularly known as Shree Jain Ashram is spread over an area of around 18000 sq. mts.

Inspiration

The leading light and dream architect of SHREE SHANTIDHAM – SHREE JAIN ASHRAM is Param Pujya Vibodhshriji Maharaj Saheb who re-established this old age home which was in a pitiful condition in the year 1964. Her empathy and easy rapport with people lie at the heart of the Ashram and its dedicated ministry of care and outreach. But due to her old age she finally handed over the reins of the Institution to our Gurumaharaj Param Pujya Acharya Bhagwant Shree Padmasagarsurishwerji M.S. who in turn assigned the project to his loving disciple Param Pujya Acharya Bhagwant Shree Arundoayasagarsurishwerji M.S. and our beloved “Guruji” Param Pujya Panyas Pravar Shree Arvindsagarji Maharaja.

Under the able guidance and blessings of Gurudev, Shree Arvind sagarji maharaj sahib, who is well known as an able administrator and who is the actual brain behind the project has been the chief executor of work on the Ashram from the very beginning. Overseeing the work on site, his is a hands-on experience of the Ashram right down to its minor details. His working knowledge and capacity for systematic organisation is an asset to Shree Shantidham.
